Disappointment, uncertainty, sadness, grief, anxiety, are all real feelings that couples are having during this time. As a small business owner we are also facing a new set of challenges. We will get through this together and we want you to know we understand what you are going through and are here for you. Planning a wedding under normal circumstances has its own challenges, and ups and downs. But when you add a pandemic into the mix we have to overcome a completely different set of obstacles.


We are all navigating through this challenging time as best we can. Since none of us have experienced a pandemic in our lifetime we all need to adapt and change with the daily challenges that we face.

Here at Christopher Todd Studios we are also adapting during this unprecedented time. Here is what we are doing to accommodate our clients and future clients.

Weddings Summer/Fall 2020

Since we don’t know for sure if fall 2020 weddings will be postponed we are implementing flexible rescheduling for these dates. This means if you have to reschedule your fall 2020 wedding date we will accommodate your new date as long as we are available. We know that Summer 2020 weddings are being pushed back and are currently working with our couples getting married in the Summer. If the venue has postponed your event or you have had to postpone your event we are rescheduling weddings for future dates. At this time we are happy to re-book your date as long as we are available. If you book us as your photographer today for a future date and your wedding date has to be postponed because of COVID 19 we will do our best to help you on a future date. We must be available for your date. It is your responsibility to check with us before you lockdown a future date.

Refunds At this time we are not offering refunds for cancelations. If you find yourself in this situation we will be happy to honor your contract with a future date pending availability. Or you can use our photography service towards a portrait session, elopement, or transfer to another family member

Portrait Sessions

If you book a portrait session with us and have to postpone due to COVID 19 we will offer flexible rescheduling. This means we won’t charge any extra fees to schedule a new date. We are also extending this same type of flexible rescheduling if family members are not completely healthy. We know these times are challenging and the most important thing to remember is the health and well being of your family.

Adjusting to the times

At Christopher Todd Studios we are following CDC guidelines as well as federal and California state guidelines. We are implementing the following:

  • Face mask/gloves- Our photographer wear a mask when out in public and working with clients.
  • Cleaning studio- The studio is disinfected daily. Common surfaces are wiped down after each session or meeting that takes place. Hand sanitizer is available for use.
  • Social Distancing- We stay a minimum of 6 feet apart from you. We do this while taking photos in our studio or in a public location. Your portraits will not be impacted by social distancing.

FAQ during COVID 19

Can we still book you during this time for future events? Yes. We are booking weddings for 2020-2022.

What happens if we have to cancel? We understand that the future is uncertain during these times. We have implemented our flexible rescheduling policy. This means if your event has to be postponed due to COVID 19 we will allow you to choose a future date. It is important to remember when moving your date it is your responsibility to make sure we are available and are not already booked. If you need to cancel we will allow you to use your credit toward a future event, transfer to a friend or family member, apply credit toward a portrait session.

Can I get a refund? The short answer is no. But we will be flexible with the unused credit. For example, if you booked us for an anniversary party that is no longer going to happen we will be happy to do a family session or if you can gift the portion of your amount to another family member for a different event or session. However, you must make sure we are available and not currently booked for the future date. The credit can also be used for custom prints and albums.

You took my photos awhile ago. How can I order prints? Contact us. We will reactivate your online gallery. You can order your prints this way.

Can I get the digital files from my wedding/family portrait session? Yes we will be happy to provide you with your digital files. You can purchase them per image or for a more economic savings buy all the files.

I really want updated family portraits. Do we have to wait? As long as we can follow CDC, State, and County guidelines we are available to photograph your family. This means I will wear a mask during the session. Keep a minimum of 6 feet distance from you. Your session can be taken in a park, beach, or in our studio.

Are you still doing elopement photography? Yes. We are available midweek and on weekends. Get in touch to see if your date is available.

I need a new headshot, when can I get one? NOW. We schedule headshots by appointment. Call to see our next availability.

What is a “Porch-trait” session? This a promotion we are offering for a limited time. We will drive by and photograph you and your family in front and around the outside of your house from 6-15 feet away. These sessions typically last about 15-30 minutes.

How long will you be offering these sessions? We are anticipating this promotion will last through June 2020.

What makes your studio safe? We are by appointment only. This means we allow ample time in between sessions to disinfect and clean the studio. We only have one session per day to slow traffic down. We are following all CDC guidelines.

Bottom Line

We are taking this pandemic very seriously. Our main concern is that everyone stays healthy and safe. When the time comes post quarantine we will be ready and waiting to get back out there and provide the same quality work to all our clients.
