Seal Beach Is Great For Photos
I like to start sessions at the Red Train Car, then walk the family down Main St. stopping at select spots. We finish the session on the sand at the pier. One of the best things about Seal Beach is the lack of crowds and easy parking. But it is a good idea to bring hair spray as it tends to be windy almost every afternoon.
- Families choose Seal Beach for its sandy beaches
- Iconic wooden pier
- The town's Main St.
- Historic Red Train Car

About This Portrait Session
The Bailey's had not had a professional family portrait since their boys were 2 and 5 years old. Kendra had expressed that her boys, including dad, were not very excited about family portraits at the beach.
The Planning Process
We started the planning process with our complimentary style guide that Kendra found useful to plan their outfits. At the start of their portrait session, Ilana and I were surprised to hear the Baileys had never been to downtown Seal Beach, despite living less than 10 miles away. Kendra kept saying how she had not realized how cool the old Main Street was.
The Results
Together, our plan was to create a colorful portrait of the family for their living room. Shortly after their session Kendra texted to tell me her boys had fun and said they would do it again, and they are looking forward to getting back to Seal Beach to explore the area as a family.
